According to Kevin O'Sullivan, head baseball coach of Florida Gators, Tommy Mace did a good job of giving the team seven strong innings at the start of the 2020 College World Series game. The rest of the team including Christian Scott, Ben Specht, Nick Pogue also played their best, in spite of the heavy wind that was blowing 20 miles per hour from left to right. Sophomore outfielder Jacob Young came through with the game-winning RBI double in No. 2 Florida's 2-1 victory over No. 1 Miami which took place at Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field. He got two outs and smacked one down the left-field line to plate the winning run.
